Yes, I've had plenty of issues with metering during our recent string of crappy weather but AF isn't an issue.

Getting the 800 is like just repeating your past history. you got rid of it for a reason. Previously, when I got the D800, I had intended to make a full system switch - to replace all my Canon gear with Nikon gear. Owning two systems didn't make sense to me, yet I found I couldn't let go of my TS-E lenses, so I retreated back to Canon.
