Love your moon. May be a bit over exposed but just love it.

A couple more I did last summer early fall. 400mm lens at f8 1/250 I have a smallHD monitor I use when shooting video with the DSLR. It has focus peaking and makes it very easy to get the focus spot on. A lot of times you'll see to use f11 for this type of thing. But I've found going to a lower fnumber will allow you to use a faster exposure that will minimize seeing artifacts. Recently I learned about diffraction limited aperture so I won't be using f8 any more since the lens I have the limit is f6.1 anything over that isn't going to be as sharp. Excellent seeing here that time of year and the sky is very dark. Slight glow to the east but the rest is nice and black.

thanks, it's a bit screwed up, left the IS on and was wondering why the tree kept coming out blurry

light was diminishing FAST and I got of a dozen shots before I was out of time. Didnt do the best job merging the photos either, could have boosted the moon a bit in exposure. My brother had called me and ask me to take a photo of the moon for him, figured it was for his photography class, so this was the best I could do in the limited time frame.
