Fresnel lens hot lights 5DmkIII 50MM 1.2 @1.4 I was going for an 8X10 Plate camera look. I'm not particularly happy with it but I am working on getting the look down.

all of these are great!
I assume you need a nd filter in order to pull these off correct? The only one I have currently is 10 stops, would that be to much?

Not at all. My shot above is at F2 and iso 125. I have my light pretty far away though in order to light the background more. In close, it becomes much harder if youre using strobes. Speedlights will power waaaaaaay down. Plus, modifiers eat a bit of light so they are a good use if you dont want to use constant lights. Lots of people will use just the modeling light on strobes too!

She is VERY beautiful. And I love the image and your subtle pp. Personally I'm not a big fan of the ring light in the eyes, I keep thinking about aliens :3

If your lights are too bright at lowest power, there's another option sometimes. A lot of strobes will hyper-sync if you trigger them in HSS mode with HSS triggers. Because it's using the "afterburn" to expose the photo, it costs it a few stops. This was taken at f1.8, ISO 100, 1/3200th.
