Well, it does lack the word "images" in the thread title, unlike some other A7 threads. :-P

Can you find the shutter count somewhere in the menus? If so, that's cool because you'd need an external program for that on Canon cameras. Did the guy mention why he wanted to sell his A7S?

Nope, not in the menus, but there's a website that allows you to upload a RAW file and it will give you the number for free. He didn't say, but I think he was getting the a7ii. I'll likely be meeting him this weekend to return his card (he sent it by mistake) so I'll ask him.

Oh stop - you just want to shamelessly flaunt your 100MP. :p

shameless indeed

I'm very happy with the lens. I have some kiddy portraits, and it's very good for that purpose as well. F2 for lowlight is ok, nothing to brag about, however I'm really loving the versatility of the lens.... would love it to have AF and IS, that would really complete such a fine lens, however, not the end of the world. I'm sure sony will have an A7r with IBIS down the road, and I'll be good to go..... well, that and A7s low light ability :p

Try turning down the brightness on your LCD. I generally run +.03 exposure compensation with all my cameras anyway though since for whatever reason I always end up wanting to boost the exposure a touch on the computer, more if I plan on printing.

When you're using manual flash or strobe, basically the camera don't know there's a flash or strobe right? is this where the light meter comes handy?

without the light meter, do you just compensate by underexposing?

My canon FD 35mm f/2 and FD 85L arrived today. A few quick test shots downtown with the 85L on the A7II.

Funny because i think the other way. Since i think that the 6D was always underexposing 1 to 1.5 stops while the a7r is almost perfect to one stop over how i use it

Do you have your monitor calibrated? If not, that would be a good place to start. I find that at least the A7 images are generally very close to spot on for my liking.

A pair of simple winter images taken with A7r and leica-r Elmarit 28mm.
My girlfriend (also she has an A7) and I are very happy. With the magnification for me it's another play, we can use all the MF lenses we like and own.....I don't cry for my dead Alpha 900....
All the best,
Sandro
