QC date is 11/14, bummer. I would assume itdoesn't have the new PCB in it. SN is 65029079 and FW is 1.05. I'll check it out and see how it does, anyway, as individual mileage can vary.

Yes, very disappointed so far. The less than advertised range is why I didn't order when they were first released. I'm in my bathroom, with the door closed (don't ask). My office is directly across the hall, with the door open. Speedlight is set up on a 622C and it won't fire with yhe 622C-TX. Without moving, or opening the bathroom door, I can fire it off with another 622C all day.

I don't know. Maybe it will be better in the civic center, where I will primarily use it.

I bought a unit early in January - SN6503714, QC 11/2014, FW 1.05. It has a PCB v1.03, but that is very hard to get access to. Neither of ours is the new improved-range pcb version,

So, yeah. Outside, clear line of site, no power lines or anything, it's great to about 20-30 meters. After that, it's spotty. Unless I hold the unit at arms length over my head. Then the flash fires reliably, every time, to about 120 meters. Maybe if it had an external antenna....

I have a roller derby bout to photograph at the end of march. That's in the civic center, with wireless microphones, scoreboards and everyone's cell phone and tablet, etc.... We'll see how it does. Sometimes I can get access to the facility about an hour before the bout, sometimes only ten minutes before. Boo.

I wonder how soon the newer units will be commonly in stock.

I wouldn't hold your breath on the yne3rx if I were you.

YN have form when it comes to taking their time between teasing and launching.

YongNuo have revealed images of the reportedly very soon to be available YNE3-RX radio receiver unit. - See more at: http://flashhavoc.com …ne3-rx-receiver-released/ (external link)

Guys, what do you think now?!

Wouldn't that be better off in one of the yn600ex-rt or ybe3-rt threads as it will work with that system not the 622 system??

Having recently purchased a YN622C-TX and 3x YN622C's, to be used in conjunction with a Canon 60D, 1 x Canon 550EX flash and 2 x Nissin Di866 Mk2 flashguns, I have been reading through this thread with interest. However, when I click on the Clive's signature link to the TOYUG v4.11 YN622 User Guide, this is where it takes me :- https://www.google.com/intl/en/docs/about/ (external link)

I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox browser

Just having a little play with this setup, and I seem to have a problem with my initial camera settings.

I have a Canon 60D, and I'm trying to disable the 'Wireless' function as stated in the 'Getting Started' section of TOYUG. Without my YN-622C-TX connected to the camera, I cannot access the camera's External Flash Menu, and with the controller connected to the camera & switched on, I cannot disable the wireless function, the menu will not allow me to.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance ;-)a

With the TX, there is no need to disable wireless as there is with the 622C to access second curtain sync. That function is handled by the TX alone. With my 50D, I also can't disable wireless with the TX active.

Thanks for your reply, I am only just starting out with wireless flash photography and I have a lot to learn :-)

Hey guys can anyone help, I've just got the Tx to compliment my 622c. but the settings I'm inputing on the TX are not being registered by the flashes...the setting on the flash are overriting whatever i tell it to do via the TX...

doe that make sense. i.e if the power is set to M 1/4 on the flash but I input it as 1/1 on the tx...when I fire it still fires at 1/4

I have the correct groups/channel set, its doing the same on all 3x of my flashes (430ex)

Can anyone suggest a fix?

I seem to recall from TOYUG that the 430EX cannot be 'completely' controlled by a YN622C. Check the guide. I believe there is a setting that will help. The 430EX II can be controlled like you want.

7D, 50 f1.8, 17-55 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 II, 100-400 f4.5-5.6L, 2x TC III, 580EX II, 430EX, 568EX II, 622C
