Yes it's a Great tit.

You can always ID your garden birds using the RSPB web http://www.rspb.org.uk …scoverandlearn/​birdguide/ (external link) this includes a handy bird identifier tool.. If you know (or think you do) the name you can check here http://www.rspb.org.uk …ndlearn/birdgui​de/name/a/ (external link)

If you want to treat yourself to a book I can recommend and heavily use "RSPB Complete Birds of Britain and Europe" (Hardcover) by Rob Hume, this includes summer/winder and juvenile variants and lots of other info.
