Best cheap ettl remote triggers right now?

So I dropped my 430exII a few years back, and since it happened right before a few year lull in my shooting I never got it fixed. That damage made it so that it won't "zoom" and won't let me use manual modes but still very much will change output with ettl. The reason I start with this is this severely limits my off flash capabilities and options, as I need something that will do ettl...and long cables aren't really an attractive solution.

I'm wondering what wireless ettl triggers are the hotness now.

From my short search right now the Yongnuo YN622C's look promising, and two are almost the same price as a single Cactus v6. And it seems like yonguno has still been improving on their build quality.

Yes. Yongnuo has some very good products. I use a few of them and have no complaints so far. However they are not totally without fault. Another new comer is Shanny. I've read some very good things about them. If I were getting a new flash and radio trigger, I'd look at the 600 series from both these brands.

I'd say the yongnuo 622 series is the best bang for the buck when it comes to ettl teiggers right now.

Yongnuo 622's for sure if you shoot Canon as you can control right from your flash menu. Cheap, and it's awesome that they run on AA's. They're even my go-to trigger for my manual strobe, as the HSS capability allows them to hyper sync with most strobes. They can be a little finicky, and more complicated than they look. Also, the buttons are horrible, it's too easy to change the group or channel inadvertently.

Another vote for the Yongnuo 622 set-up. Since I have used them, they have been reliable and consistent. Can't beat them for the price.

Don't plan on getting five years of trouble free service but the price should override any dislike of them.

Been using the 603 flash trigger/shutter release. There were a few problems with the first model (hard to get to the on/off switch once a flash was mounted, plus no locking wheel - so the possibility that it might fall off lightstand if you moved it around. Those things have been fixed with the new version.

The 622 certainly seems to be a very good bit of kit so I am now looking to upgrade. Will keep a couple of 603s to use as shutter release, as the 622 doesn't do that.
