Just picked up this lens. So far I'm happy with the results.

How are you all fixing the distortion in post? LR or Photoshop? . Do you manually do it or let the software decide?

I havent had any issues with needing to fix it. However the canon 10-22 profile works pretty good.

That's what I use to, and works in most cases

Why would you do that when the 10-18 lens correction profile already exists....??

Here is one a few days ago, we had about 6 inches of heavy wet snow a few days before and I was finally able to get out before sunset and catch a great scene, this is a minute or two after sunset.

Are you talking about slight fisheye curvature in the images with this and the 10-22 and similar UWA non-fisheye lenses, or something else? Would any correction be required if one was just carefull with their composition when taking the shot? Maybe this is just something that I need to experiment with myself whenever I get an UWA lens to really understand any issues.

Interesting library/book room, is there a story that goes with it?

It is an office in a private residence. The owner said using that typewriter helps the writing process.

It does? For what software? How can one get it?

= = = =

I also bought this lens last week. I had only one chance to go out with, but my first impression is a good one. I shot hand held and the IS was a nice thing to have, i could go quite a bit slower as normally. I got som Chromatic Aberration, but it was easily fixed in LR.
Overall i think the image had a good quality. i'm happy with it (especially if we think it cost much less as come other comparable lenses!). =)

Here is my first photo with it:

The current version of LR has the lens profile.
