Beauties, especially the first and last shots... and pretty much everything in between.

Nice beach spots? Do you mean for photos?

Yea.. for photography :D I visited the black beach back in 2012, but it wasn't what I wanted. I looking for a beach "covered with rocks" something like this here: http://500px.com …m=popular&only=Landscapes (external link)

I didn't spend much time on the coast other than around Vik, so unfortunately I can't help you much. There's a white sand beach on the northwestern coast of the Snaefellsness Peninsula (in Snaefellsness NP) that was pretty cool, but it was raining and dreary when we were there so I didn't do any photography.

A great set, and a place I really must get to one day.

Thanks guys... I highly recommend putting it at the top of your bucket list, especially those of you on the east coast or in Europe. There are so many direct flights these days, it's super easy to get to Reykjavik in less than 4 hours.

awesome, just planning my trip for the end of the year, my only concern is my only window to go is mid november and I am worried about the lack of daylight hours, planning for 14 days just not 100% sure as sunrises at about 945am sets at 430pm just dont know if I can see and get to what I need to in that short amount of time.

If it's the only time you can go... go. :)

You may not have the daylight you want, but think of it positively: it'll be easier to wake up for sunrises, and you should get lots of interesting weather that time of year.

Beautiful set of images. Congratulations. Can you tell us a little more about your trip? Were you with a group photo tour? Anyone you would recommend?

I was not with a photo tour... I planned the trip myself for my wife and I. Photography was definitely one of my main goals while visiting Iceland, but not THE main reason.

We stayed in three different locations over the course of 12 days; I wanted to see enough of the country, but I also wanted time to explore each area.
- Three days on the Snaefellsness Peninsula (rented a B&B).
- Four days in southeast Iceland, near the town of Kirkjubaejarklauster (rental off VRBO).
- Five days near Selfoss (rental off VRBO).

I highly recommend the photography-focused map from www.International-Photographer.com (external link) (I have no affiliation). I purchased a copy- as well as the e-book- about six months before my trip and I spent hours and hours looking at it and researching locations. Iceland is very large and very spread out, and the map helped immensely.
