Suspending anything other than a bare speedlight is moving into a higher weight class: more stuff to schlepp, longer setup, more safety issues. You might get enough reach with a grip arm, but a boom is the proper way to go. A counterweighted boom on wheeled stand is a thing of beauty. :)

Can anyone tell me what's the best way to get the color to be all the way on the background from my flash? I had it at 24 for the zoom and 1/1 on Manual mode.

Move it and the subject further from the background, if you have the room. Really though, I like it like it is. :D
