MarkRN, Those are some neat perspectives you captured. :)
I take it those are power transmission lines on the towers, but what is the other building in the background?

Honestly not sure... they were remodeling it when we were there so we couldn't get close enough to find out.

I somehow managed to evade the crowds, there were a lot of people there with us.

Yes!!! I love going there. My parent's live just north of Kalamazoo so we'll take our bikes and ride from K-zoo to Grand Haven on the Kal-Haven trail. I think it's around 31 (?) miles one-way.

The Kilauea Lighthouse works tirelessly through the night and has been doing so for over a hundred years.

This is beautiful! Can you explain how you were able to get the Milky Way, AND the light beams coming from the light house? This technique escapes me. :(

Thanks! The milky way image was three images stitched together using a Canon 6d and Sigma 35mm lens. The lighthouse bulb flashes twice in an overall interval of something like 30 seconds. I used an exposure time of 13 seconds and only captured the second flash, instead of both. Then the two remaining images were taken when the lighthouse bulb did not flash. I hope that helps and I added the rest of the camera settings to the image.

Here's a better pic from the same night that caught only 1 light cycle, same settings except f1.4 instead of f2.2
