Sometimes the actual kiss can look ..odd or posed.

Often the anticipation of the kiss can be the shot.
Roberto Valenzuela talks about the "X" (external link) factor of a couple not looking into one another's eyes.

His arm looks more natural in the first image, but not his expression.
His expression looks better in the second, but not their body language.
So i prefer #1.

All in all i think they are both good photos with good concepts. Good timing with the water receding.

I read on another thread that the difference between someone "smelling" and "kissing" is closed or parted lips. Very insightful tidbit.

Lovely images, #2 is likely my favorite.

# 2 is the shot (their hand positions would be my only nit pick)

I agree. It looks like a couple that was forced to kiss, like the guy doesn't know how to kiss. There's no heat.

That's a shame, there was some potential there.

Late to the game but this is why I ask my couples to essentially make out. Not full blown passion but the build up and I just shoot away. It's the best way to get something more real. It may take time but it does make for a better outcome.

He's on his knees, feet behind him.

Just did a couple on the beach, no like this but I'll post when home. Got a few kisses.
