Wow...I would love to buy every Otus that ever comes out, but I think the 55mm will be my last one. I always wanted a no-compromises awesome lens, and the Otus 55mm satisfies that dream.

The Otus 85mm would be a dream portrait lens, but I love the 55mm for that as well. :)

That's an amazing portrait david! yes you are right. the 55mm is just a shrine of lenses. but what zeiss does with us is this kind of a sickness. they make us WANT EVERY OTUS that comes out. and for me as a portrait photographer the 85 shines like the own ultimate portrait lens!

^Congrats Jan, that is wonderful!

I recently started accumulating a few native lenses for my a7R, including the 55mm f/1.8. I am enjoying it so much that I have even begun contemplating selling my Otus 55mm and going with an all-native e-mount lens lineup in my bag. Nothing touches the Otus quality, so I am not going to make the decision lightly or quickly. Just considering it at the moment. :)

I have been in the same situation David with the same lenses. A light setup was very tempting , but in the end I decided to keep the otus. The 55mm 1.8 is very good, but the Otus is an other league.

Interesting thinking to sell otus. but believe me! you will regret it. keep the otus and additionally add some of these sony lenses. but the otus still will stand out of this..... you love this lens so much that you would miss it.... i swear that!

You're absolutely correct Jan...if I sell it will be sorely missed! That's why I won't be making any decision quickly or carelessly.

Very nice shot, Jan! You're convincing me to get the OTUS for night work!

Just do it! For me David was the father to buy this lens. His shots inspired me very much.

Beautifully framed and exposed. Did you use a reflector here?
