Challenge #521 - Music soothes the soul

Our dear friend Marie recently reminded me of the healing properties of music. How true that is.
Let's bring audio to visual. Your photo can be anything you choose as long as it is strongly related to music.
Have fun with it :-)

***************

Results:

Car: "Cafe Jazz" - Who hasn't enjoyed a nice venue like this. I like the composition and overall feel of the photo. The focus could have been a little more defined I think. As it is, it appears the focus is on the back of the guy with the cap on center picture. Perhaps a little more DOF might have worked better. The photo does bring up a question I've had for a long time; what do musicians think when nobody in the crowd seems to be paying attention to them. I've seen this many times. :-)

Maureen: "Bluegrass on the Harmonica" - What can I say about this photo other than frame it and hang it on a wall. Excellently done from focus to lighting to composition.

Rafael: "rehearsal" - Very nice shot of what I assume to be a few generations of family (or at least friends) bonded together via music. The little boy brings the familial feeling together. Too bad it couldn't have been a little wider framed. It looks a bit cut off on the left side. Other than that, a very nice photo.

Spoco: "Organ Music" - Now that's an organ! Beautiful. The nice lighting really brings it home.

Well, they all deserve a place. All met the criteria of the theme and all are very nice photos.
But......

First - Maureen - "Bluegrass on the Harmonica"
Second - Spoco - "Organ Music"
Third - Rafael - "rehearsal"

Thanks everyone for your submissions.
Now it's all yours, Maureen. I hope your arm is feeling better this week.

Congrats to Maureen. Beautiful photo and I agree, it is a clear winner. Congrats also to Rafael and Car on your excellent submissions. Thanks for the sweet spot, Raven, and thanks for hosting.

I admit, I had a difficult time with this one, but I work in a church building and yesterday I heard the organist practicing and had the sudden inspiration to just run off a few shots. I wish I could've captured the entire organ but I didn't have the lens for it and I was out of time to do any post processing, so I just gave you the best one I had.

Thanks again,
Steve

Congratulations to Maureen and all the other entrants this week - all excellent in different ways. I just couldn't come up with any presentable shot, and certainly none that could compete with those who did enter.

Congratulations, Maureen. Awesome photo! I'm glad to see you made a nice return to the challenges with the last few photos.
Spocco57, I felt the need to listen to organ music seen your picture. Nice instrument and photo!
Thank you Raven for the third place and for running an interesting theme. I had to dig in the archives for this one.
Yes it is family + friends in a rehearsal for a family wedding.

I was thrilled by the large amount of white backs of the score sheets, and, honestly it was mainly a snapshot of my grandson with his guitar.
He whispered the songs along the singers, but he was only two years old, and the 'music' of his guitar was not helping to the choir. :)

Sorry for the delay; just got back from LA & Fresno; daughter in one hospital & hubby having tests at the other.

Great challenge & thanks for the win. Congrats to the runners up. I will get the new challenge right up :)
