Why? Similar results with 24-70/2.8 - with more range, actually. Sigma could update their current model - that should be a rumor, except that they seem to be focusing on primes more. I had the 16-35 on my 5D bodies - I think vignetting at around 18mm (or 20mm) or wider. It was great left at 35mm. No mirror issues.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Is anyone using this with the new 7Dmii? Curious if there are any focusing issues.

Im looking for something wider for conventions with bad light. this looks perfect.

If anyone could post samples comparing this lens to Canon's EF-S 17-55mm IS USM f2.8 I'd greatly appreciate it! Yes, I do know the focal lengths are different, the Sigma doesn't have IS, the Sigma is sharper, the Canon is known for being a plastic dust sucker, Canon has bad vignetting wide open, the Sigma suffers with focusing issues especially on Rebels (which I have), and that you can solve this with a dock station.

I want to see live comparisons. If that's not possible, I'd be more than happy to hear past past experiences from people who owned both lens. Thank you!

I posted on your other thread, too. ;) I also agonized over which lens to get (the Canon 17-55 and the Sigma 18-35). For me, it boiled down to what was more important to me; taking pics of my kids indoors with not-so-great lighting OR the focal length. What sealed the deal for me was going back through my pics I was taking with my 18-200 lens (that I sold) and checking to see what FLs I was shooting at. I was almost always between 18-35, 50, and around 100. I have the 50 and 100 primes covered, so the answer was right there. In addition to that, I also checked out the lens comparison tools on both DPreview and The Digital Picture. The Siggy came out ahead every time. For me, it made the most sense. I actually *just* bought one off of a fellow forum member, so I will let you know how it works out for me when I get it in. If you haven't checked out those lens comparison tools yet, do so if you can. They give more info than looking at pics (something I had also been doing), because too many things can be factors in the quality of a photo.
