Here is one using the settings and edits recommended earlier. Lowered the ISO a little for exposure. Thoughts?

I think your framing and timing are just fine. I would correct the white balance on this pictures.

Also, I know you were going off of others suggestions on the settings, but with a 1Dx I would have increased the iso to 6400 and raise your shutter speed to 1/800. Just me .02:-)

Thanks for the input. Still trying to get the WB dialed in. Do you think this is better? What do you suggest?

To me there is still too much yellow tint. Was this shot RAW or jpeg? If RAW, try your WB "temp" around 3400 K and the tint around +21. If shot in jpeg move your temp slider to the left a little, -10 or so, and the tint to the right, +10 to +18. I'm assuming you are using Light Room with these edits?

Thanks. Shot in RAW and edited in LR. I will apply your settings and post the results.

I decided to post this in a thread of it's own to avoid messing up this fine topic. Hopefully you will continue to give me feedback there. :)

Very nice Theron. I am impressed with what you are getting from that little Sony. Got me tempted to maybe give one a shot.

Wish I had some boys bball to shot around here. :(

Anyhoo, here are a few from my take of the girls game last night.

Loving your shots, Theron. I finally made it out to a basketball game Friday night. Washington Patriots vs Jefferson Cougars. I think my 1D MKIII is starting to show it's age when compared to the shots in here using newer technology. All of these shots are using the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 - 1/640 - 6400iso.

Different gym, way different results. Decided not to shoot in my home gym any more until they switch out the lights to save myself the frustration. :)
