Did some shooting at the skiing world championships that were in Vail and Beaver Creek this year. Really great experience to be able to see this in person. It was also a good field test for my 7dII.
Downhill shots were ok, but a 500 or 600mm lens would have been nice. :)

Had better viewing options for slalom and giant slalom and got better results there.

1. Dominik Paris(ITA) makes an amazing one foot landing after losing control in the air.

Awesome pics. Nicely done. I'd say the 7D MkII and the 70-200mm f.8 IS II made a nice combo. Super sharp images.

Thanks. Used the 100-400 for some of the early races and almost don't like that lens now.

Great Pictures!

What would you recommend for camera settings for youth downhill skiing?
When I say youth I'm talking ages 5 & 7

Very good set, and the Tina Maze shot is outstanding.

Amazing work. I love the poles bending from the contact... great timing!

These are pretty good, however most of the backgrounds are quite distracting (1 and 4 excluded).

I wish I could have made it out to Colorado for a couple of those races; it certainly looked like a good time.
