Thanks for the tip, they have a ski race this Saturday I can take a few more pics, but I think they enjoy the trainpark more!

I would start at +1, and plan on maybe pushing it up from there. You will want some detail in the snow, but if you blow it out ever so slightly, that may lead to better exposure of your subject. The histogram is your friend, but I rely on the blinking highlight warning on the lcd screen as well. I'm ok with some blinking on the snow areas.
