Pardon the quickie this week but I have one kid in the hospital, one husband getting daily radiation and another kid with a new baby. I am on speed mode & severely sleep deprived;-)a

Winners:
First Place: SPOCO! Love the cranberry harvest & always have wanted to see it in person.
Second Place: Raven. Those masks are very cool, Jim. Do you have a collection?
Third Place: Jim Askew. the colors & texture of the cardboard really caught my attention. Now I am going to attempt an art project with my grandboys. :-P
Thanks to all who entered. Can I please ask where Marie is these days?

Thanks Maureen! We went to visit the cranberry harvest this fall and I've been itching to use the photos for something. Congrats to Raven and JimAskew for their podium spots. I expected to be buffaloed by Teekay too. What a fantastic shot! And Trumpers pup looks like he might like a set of wellies, too. Or to be let off the lead so he can tear around in the mud.

I appreciate the extra time you took, Maureen. Sounds like you've got your hands full! I love an open challenge like this one. I'll try to carry on in that vein.

Steve

Congratulation to Spoco57 and Raven :-) Thank you, Mo, for the 3rd place...it is an honor to place against such fine entries!

Mo, I loved this challenge and as evidenced by the completely different entries submitted, each of us has a different concept of "getting Our Groove On." :-) Great entries by all and great fun! :-)

My entry is very unusual to say the least. We were at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC a few years ago and I saw an artist touching up an exhibit in the lobby. LOL...Art snob that I am I thought her artist’s palette was a much better piece than the one she was working on.

Mo, hope everyone is on the mend! You are most certainly being pulled in many directions these days. Please give my best to Skip.

Congratulations to Spoco, Raven and Jim and to Maureen for running this despite many personal challenges. It was such a wide open subject that I had expected even more entries but at least we saw a good variety.

My bison shot was taken in Grasslands National Park in southern Saskatchewan and was my favourite image from the whole trip. Driving on a gravel road we were alone with no human habitation or other vehicle in sight, just wild prairie grass from horizon to horizon. This lone, huge bull was walking slowly across the landscape looking absolutely invincible and king of his world. The shot was taken from further away than it looked, as I stood by the car door with engine running. These plains bison are totally unpredictable, often attacking for no apparent reason, and capable of killing a human with a flick of the head, or demolishing a small car.

:-) Well done everyone ,mine was indeed a last minute entry ,she is on a lead because she loves the mud and the fields too much and the local farmers are not that friendly.:-P
Maureen ,i hope things work out well for you all and you can soon slow down abit.

Congrats Spoco and Jim. And thank you, Maureen, for the #2 spot. And for hosting a fun contest.

I do collect First Nations art (masks, carvings, paintings, basketry). And recently I started collecting some Southwest NA pottery.

I liked teekay's buffalo. Very nice shot. And, I agree with their unpredictable temper. When I was in my mid-20's, I was chased by a bull buffalo.
Fortunately, I was fast enough and a barbed wired fence was close enough to jump through. But I'll never forget the murderous look in his eyes. :-)

Congratulations Spoco57, Raven, JimAskey, great entries. Thank you teekay for the impresive bison.

Thank you Maureen for an interesting challenge. The fun started with the investigation of the title, not easy to understand for me, a foreigner to the English language. :)
I found that "It is an expression that cannot be understood from the meanings of its separate words but that has a separate meaning of its own"
Not better.
After the first three wonderful photos, I decided to forget the 'groove on' thing and stick to the description of Maureen and thought that my home made adaptions involving electronics and photography were a suitable subject.
Mine is a prosaic photo compared to the others, but describes the design and constuction of my optical flash trigger. For outdoors, it was the most reliable trigger I had for many years until the time we switched from comercial optical/infrared devices to the latest wireless transmitters.
It is still the only accesory at home capable of withstand the high voltage in the contacts of my old Vivitar and Bauer ultrablitz flashes.

Below, a photo using the trigger for lateral lighting. The finished trigger can be seen in this old post in challenge #29 - TOYS :)
