ZoneV Goldmember More info | Feb 23, 2015 09:42 | #339 Contax IIa Color Dial I found this nice high quality camera on a fleamarket. I have to admit that I use it mainly as photo-model, I do not love rangefinder photography. But the camera is great for my lens testing. I have a russian copy of it, and use the both for bokeh, sharpness, artifacts test. DIY-Homepage

I think it is so cool to shoot with the older cameras and see the images that they produce. This is not all of them. Most of them work but haven't had film sent through them in a while. The A1 was last used about 5 or 6 years ago. The Nikon has a dead meter due to lack of batteries but functions. The other 35 mm's still work I believe. The TLR's I am not sure about. My niece is running some film through the later Rollei right now so we'll see if it functions. That one I would get serviced. I have used them all at one time or another years ago. I used the baby Speed Graphic last in the 1980's, it worked. The folders (I have a bunch of them in all sizes) are mostly obsolete film formats so I really have never used them although I have had most of them for quite a while. Ed

For the folders you can use 120 film and modify the camera's film opening with DIY carton strips and tape. I have also bought some Bluefire 127 film from FrugalPhotographer to use it in my old 127 cameras. My main problem is that labs can scan 120 film up to 6x6, 127 film they cannot. So I must rephotograph the negatives and invert them in LightRoom.

They take 116 (there was a roll in that one), 616, and 620 film. The humongous Kodak 3A doesn't say anywhere, even the empty spool doesn't say. I looked it up, it says 122 film which I have never seen. Ed
