Not quite as good as i would have liked, its a large crop, and high ISO and im still learning this beast.

So, for those posting such great photos using AI Servo, what is your ITR setting? Does it actually help or hurt in Ai servo?

I currently have it turned on, but I believe it only works when you are using all of the 65 AF points, can't say that I have seen a difference either way, but haven't really set out to test the difference just with that one setting on and off to be honest.

yes I also have it turned on and I never take the camera off AI Servo and I have shot some darn good stuff using all 65 points. Can't say I use it much but once in a while!!

I shot this using all 65, I let the face detection grab his face and then I recomposed the shot and focus stayed on his face. This was back when the camera was new to me.

$10 but only available as a Kindle download... so if you don't have a Kindle, you can read it on your computer. Pretty good suggestions about what to turn off and turn on... plus he covers the options well.

Yes 1/1000, f6.3, iso250 with the 70-300L at 300mm

It was Nov 5th so I had the camera for 5 days and was using everything on the camera just to figure it all out. I was surprised that the camera would find his face and stick with it, I found myself moving the camera all over just to see the AF points fluttering around on his face as I paned around.

Oh... and I've been meaning to ask: do you use back button focusing? I know lots of wildlife and sports photographers do. The above book explains the different versions of it and I'm playing with the idea of trying it out.... Any thoughts?

That worked surprisingly well Jeff (I tend to distrust auto things like that). Can you show the active focus point screen shot so we can see where it placed the fp (just out of interest).

I can do one better Lester, I wanted to try my Kenko 1.4 pro 300 one more time before I put it up for sale because I've never been able to get it sharp enough for me and it finally came to me what I was doing wrong with it. So after leaving this tread this morn I put it on and go out in the yard to shoot some birds and wouldn't you know right in the very same spot I shot the images I posted along comes a new target to try out multi point shooting an there they are.

Now remember I have the Kenko 1.4 on and I've not and time to really PP this there just kinda fast get them out of LR lol.. I shot the back of the camera so you can see my settings...easier...

I will go looking for the first shot I posted this morn
