This was taken at one of the "iconic" locations in Boulder; where the Flatirons tower over Chautaqua Park on the south side of town. The snow had just started clearing out this morning when I captured this image:

I like how the distant mountains are fuzzy and not fully prominent. Thanks for sharing!

It's a fine looking image, Steve. Well done. But, I think I'd enjoy it even more without the watermark. Why ruin a gorgeous picture with a distraction!

Fortunately there wasn't much wind today; I 'was' going to do some exploring up in RMNP this afternoon, but had a few business activities I had to take care of...so my exploring will have to wait for another day.

Nice composition & light, well done! :)

I agree with the Frank, but I like this image. Very relaxing feel to it.

Thanks Frank. I put the watermark on there because I've had multiple images stolen in the last couple of years, and I'd like to provide at least a small deterrent from it happening again. A small, clean watermark in the corner of the image doesn't take away from the overall picture (IMO).

Nice shot! Did you have to PS anyone hiking? It's usually very busy up there no matter what time of the year it is.

jmarz- there was only one couple hiking way up near the trees and I cloned them out, but that was it.... there weren't many people up at Chatauqua at all, I guess that's what "crappy" weather and the middle of week give you.

Awesome image. Can you give more background information on the exact location? I was in Colorado in 2012 for Fall Colors and visiting this July for wildflowers up in San Juan Mountains. I want to come back again and again.

Sure thing. I took this from one of the main "lookout" points at Chatauqua Park, essentially steps from the parking lot (to the west, to be exact) right along the wooden fenceline. The park is on the west end of Baseline Road, about a mile west of the intersection with Broadway on the southern half of town.

This location is awesome for spring wildflowers as well, and I'm hoping to get something decent in a couple of months.

I hope to see more photos by you from the area ;) I would love to come back to Aspen to get another shot @ Maroon Bells, sunrise I had there was a washout.
