Just got the lens after work this afternoon, also got Kirk LP-61 replacement foot this morning :-)
Come home after dinner meeting, only manage to take a shoot with the moon. Looking good with x2 III

The lens is much better balance with Kirk LP-61 feet than the original one; highly recommended!

Thanks for the pics of the Kirk! I actually just put my order in for one this morning. I tried getting along with the Canon one, but it wasn't big enough to hold onto easily, neither did I trust it to stay tight when on a blackrapid sling.

On the topic of black rapid and the kirk foot, can you affix the attachment loop thingy to the kirk foot? My current plate will not take one and I am looking for an all in one solution.

My wife and I use Kirk clamps with our BlackRapid straps. They work great! If you can leave the loop thingy attached to the clamp all the time, use a little Loctite Blue as an added safety measure (although we've never had one come loose without the Loctite).

The cadillac solution is from Acratech. I have one of these that I bought before I learned about the Kirk clamp:

And if you ever need a plate that has a 1/4-20 threaded hole in it, this one does:

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Just arrived last week. only chance to use it was indoors at iso 1600 with a 7D. I am impressed so far! Bought for motorsports which will have to wait until the snow melts.

next to a 70-200 F/4 non IS. nothing special here but very impressed with the IS at first impressions!!

Nothing fancy, just practicing with some local duck :-)

All with x1.4 III. Somewhat x2 III AF didn't work with 5D3 today, very very strange...

One day if I ever get into birds photography, I'll definite get a 600mm or 800mm lens as 560mm is still too short for sure!

Spent the morning messing with settings trying to get the these little fellas in flight, they are small AND fast. Got some reasonable keepers, but most were just blurs or empty frames LOL. All cropped to some extent.

All with the 7DII and 100-400II
