Panning is so difficult... Nice job here, but I would have loved to see some faces too!

Just a few suggestions, I've shot my sons high school and college games. The 85mm is great, and what I used. Shot at f/2.0 - 2.2, shutter speeds for basketball you need at least 1/640. Position yourself baseline to the right as they are coming towards you, as most are right handed, under the basket to right side to corner is best. Something like this

I was practicing slow shutter speed panning for the above shot to imply more motion blur into the photo for something different. The following photo is what I normally shoot for speed etc. Not much room for me on the court at most school gym's

Yea, nice I remember those litte gyms when my kids were young. You might want to go pick up a nifty 50.

Nice clean shot, the gyms I shot in are like dungeons.

I have been shooting my daughter's basketball team for the past 4 years. I have seen every horribly lit gym imaginable. It is tough. I usually shoot my 7D with my 70-200 f/2.8, but if the area is too congested then I have to break out the Nifty Fifty lens. It seems like in any case I am generally running at ISO 3200, 1/500, f2.8 just to get a decent photo. Still a bunch of noise to deal with in Lightroom. But it works. 1/500 is less than ideal, but in most gyms it seems like about all that is about the fastest that I can push the shutter without cranking the ISO on the 7D to even higher levels. It is a real challenge for sure but fun.

Yea, I could never shoot a f/2.8 lens in my gyms, with a 85mm my settings are usually 1/640(college kids are fast), f/2.0, iso 3200.

Here are a couple that I shot yesterday evening at my daughter's game. The lighting is so rough in these tiny gyms.

A few are underexposed, also get your shutter speed to at least 1/500, ideal 1/640 min. Make sure your using center point focus, and I would look into custom white balance.
