Here is the size pattern of the hot spot at the same distance and same power settings between the Elinchrom 10" and the Maxilite. The 10" produces alot more spread then show in the image. This is just to show the hot spot pattern.

Saw this on Flickr Scott. Elinchrom should hire you to do proper testing so photographers could actually see what they're spending their yearly salary on!!!

I haven't used my maxilite once funnily enough. But I have just laid down some moolah today on the 175cm Rotalux, looking forward to working with nice soft light for a change! If anyone has any examples of it, please post them! :)

I own a DSLR, some lenses and some lights.

Here is the spread pattern example, the 10 produces alot more spill/spread do to its size. The Maxilite spread/spill falls off faster.

after years and years they still use a 7mm umbrella shaft
thats just a pure dick move if you ask me

Yeah, and what's with the shape of it? When I switch the softlite dish between quadra and BRX, I have to unscrew the deflector and rotate it 90 degrees !

Quality: The inherent visible signature of the reflected diffuse light returning from the subject, as judged by the specularity of the subject and the base level of ambient fill, determined by the sole factor of whether your lighting gear is all black and looks pro.

Quality is also exponentially determined by the photographer writing the review of said light

Did any one notice the price increase on most the Elinchrom products?

Must have to do with the recent increase of the Swiss franc, not too sure though.
