New Ranger Quadra released. No TTL? No HSS? Flash duration only 5200?

This new Quadra doesn't seem anything special. The strobo, delay or sequence features certainly wouldn't be worth the upgrade for me... Still keeping my money to jump on a move pack someday :p

Jump up the power by 25ws and increase the recycle time faster by .4 seconds and change the led display is not worth switching from the old to new. They should have changes the head /plastic swivel. I understand it cost money for new molds, but for what they charge they could have redesigned a whole new unit to keep up with the other companies.

On the bright side I do like the names for their latest products, ELC Pro HD 500/1000 and ELB 400.

It's like they ran out of ideas and someone had a box of scrabble to hand.

Not really much of an upgrade, a couple nice tweaks but basically the same pack.

Biggest mistake I made was going with too much power. I always end up having to use the Quadra in the studio for shallow depth of field. Might have to get some sheets of ND or something instead of buying more, lower wattage strobes. How do you guys attach the sheets of ND?

I own a DSLR, some lenses and some lights.

Cut a piece that fits 6" from the bulb and then use blue painters tape to adhere it to the modifier. I've got a round piece specifically for the Maxilite, but I also use on on others.
