Would the Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB kit do well? My preference is for a tripod without a center column, or one that can be removed. Even the center column on my Gitzo was not as secure and tight as I would want for LE...so I took it out and mount the head directly to the base plate. Website

Older bogens and newer manfrotto 055's have center columns and super stable as long as not extended. IMO, leg sections make a bigger difference than pure center column or not. With low end tripods, the more sections can be even worse than center column extended. Mar 10, 2015 12:29 | #6724 kind of cheating here, but 13 stops to get any bit of movement from the high clouds: only 10 stops on this one, wish I could have done about 5 or 6 more stops, but 14mm is limited to only one IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/rfcirz Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

yes, but it actually turned out badly and I had to do a correction. apparently, when you stack without a holder, the edges can cause flare, and that's what happened, however I fixed in post. I'm switching back to circular filters soon, have a set of 3,6,10 coming, nothing wrong with square filters other than the size. I'm going small and have a full small kit nowadays, from 14-200, so that should cover all of my landscapes. Image hosted by forum (716855) © Charlie [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Mar 10, 2015 13:35 | #6729 Charlie wrote in post #17469030 DONT DO IT ![]() I went unprepared and had to use anything I could find. It did produce flaring since the filters were stacked, however if you have something to carefully drape over, you'll be fine. A proper filter holder will not let light come in from behind, and very little chance of flaring. The left rubber looks like its going to slip over the filter.. Might end in broken glass Sony A7RII | Sony A7S

I can't remember. Was with the B+W ND100 so it probably needed some WB adjustment in LR as Auto gets it pretty close but not perfect.
