Still life with Broccoli
Romanesco broccoli is just too interesting to cook and eat without doing some photography first.

Beautiful composition Michael! What is that little pyramid made of? Granite? Decorative or utilitarian?

The type of stone is called Snowflake Obsidian. It's obsidian with small white inclusions of Cristobalite, where the white microscopic crystals form a pattern, creating the snowflake appearance. It serves as a decoration on my bookshelf.

Ball Bearings on a Mirror

I learned that placing small ball bearings on a mirror,
whilst trying to make them stay where you want them,
when one is having a "bad hand tremor" day,
is an exercise in hilarity.
With Essential Tremor, the more precise and controlled you try to be, the greater the shaking becomes.
I (finally) managed to get three of the five to stay in the same general area and get take some shots.
