with a 12mp, how big can we print? i really love that ISO freedom on A7S.... and the silent shutter.

I've printed 12x18 with great results, even when view super close. Havent done anything bigger than that with 12mp (5Dc).

30x40 inch canvas wont be an issue. Was talking about high definition type prints like metal or high res paper.

Oh i do metallic prints too. I waited for the A7S to come out before i bought the A7R. When I learn that it only has 12mp, i went ahead and got myself the A7R.

Since it's 12mp i also thought it's going to have like 14fps.

Here is one of mine I had printed for some at 40" x 20".

https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=17429137

12MP gives (in 4:3) a 250dpi 16x12" print.

With wall art, you can easy get away with 180 or 250 dpi for like "normal" viewing distance:

200 dpi = 20" x 15"

I printed mine at 100dpi as it was to be hung on the wall over the mantle-piece. That gave a good 6ft from the sofas so I could get away with a low DPI.

I can only recommend a read of this :
http://www.photokaboom.com …size_viewing_distance.htm (external link)

Far too often people are aiming for a 300dpi print that would look fine at the viewing distance people will view it at as a 4x sized 150dpi print.

The general rule is:
PPI to use = 3500/viewing distance in inches.

Yah I've seen it. I'm kinda of like the more of what it is now. it's kinda look more vintage to me.
