I'll probably buy the extra insurance next time. Asus is suppose to be releasing a 120hz 1440p IPS panel soon. I think I may wait for that.

I absolutely love my Asus, 27 inch 1440p 60hrz IPS panel its wonderful. I did compare it to a few 1080p 144hz monitors and personally couldn't tell the difference in frame rate. YMMV though.

Which model do you have?

I have a 120hz TN panel hooked up to the kids PC. Less tearing but other than that it's hard to tell.

It used to take 2 weeks... now it's over a year? :)

I'm so out of touch--when it comes to Canon gear--that I wasn't even aware of the 100-400 II until two days ago. The last year, the only posts I contributed were in the 2am thread. I've been pretty content just fiddling around with my e-mount crap.

All the birders and wildlifers are raving about that lens. ;-)a

Guess I can't recommend this monitor. Didn't even last two weeks.

Ouch. You sure it's the monitor and not the GPU and/or drivers? Also, is it hooked up via HDMI? Could be a bad handshake.

Bad handshake better than no handshake? :p

I have the Asus PB278q http://www.bhphotovideo.com …&InitialSearch=yes&sts=pi (external link)

The stand is awesome and allows pretty much every orientation I could need. It is very very sharp. Colors and contrast look great, and after calibration it has been extremely accurate for prints. It did have a little bit of a blue tint out of the box, but it was nothing extreme. My biggest complaint with it is that the hard buttons that adjust the screens properties are not labeled on the case so you have to push a button to see which key is for what. That's not too big of a deal once you get your initial brightness set though.

Ah yes, I did research this one. If I were to buy one right now it would be this one. I really wanted the Thunderbolt support the LG provided. :(
