The last "rumor" I heard said next Wednesday, the 25th. ;)

Unfortunately the world is rumoured to end on the 24th :( (and again on the 29th and then on the 14th April and.....)

Adobe themselves had previously said it would be released in March, so hopefully it wont be pushed into April.

Regardless, if it needs to that's fine, because we don't want it to have any issues anyhow and the only way to resolve any issues is with more time.

In the past LR major version releases have come at roughly 1.5 year intervals. LR 5 was released in June 2013, so it has now been 21 months. However, it is also true that in the past the general release has been preceded by a public beta version, freely available and with a life limited to two or three months, so it has been around 2 years since 5 Beta was released. Of course, Adobe could have decided against a public beta this time. A limited beta (invited testers bound by a NDA) has been been running for some time. It's not clear whether the fact that it hasn't advanced further yet is a good or a bad sign. It might mean that there are problems that haven't been solved or it might indicate a determination to be sure it is as good as possible before releasing anything. It is also possible that Adobe will use the large community of cloud subscribers as their public beta testers before finalizing the perpetual license version.

Actually I thought it was Adobe who inferred or communicated that LR6 should be released in March 2015, it was a while ago though.

I testy my Google-Fu and it does appear to have just been a rumor, I think someone claimed to hear unofficially from a developer or something, but certainly nothing official.

The wait continues.

Perhaps these rumours are there to whet the appetite for when it is eventually released, though I'm not holding back on the CC thought, if I'm proven wrong, then I'm wrong, no biggie on that

I would never even rely anything being said on amazon, like I said, with the CC more or less being touted, I would also have to have a permanent internet connection, and I guarantee that I don't always bring it with me, lol

CC doesn't' require a permanent internet connection, I think it only requires you to have one at least once every 30 or 45 days, I don't recall.

#2 ” I don’t want to have to be connected to the internet just to use Photoshop.”
Once we get past the fact that you download the Apps and install them on your hard drive, people still sometimes think that they need to be connected to the internet to actually run the Apps because they are Creative Cloud Apps. Again, this is not true. Your Apps not only install on your hard drive, but they also can very much run offline. You computer does have to connect to the internet once a month to verify that your membership is still current, but that’s it. Once that check has happened you can disconnect and run all of your Creative Cloud apps OFF-line.

Update as of 5/6/2013: You will need to be online when you install and license your software. If you have an annual membership, you’ll be asked to connect to the web to validate your software licenses every 30 days. However, you’ll be able to use products for 99 days even if you’re offline.

Apparently as much as 99 days if you have an annual membership.

OK, fair enough, but it still requires after a certain amount of time internet connection, which means if you don't have any kind of connection, or going to be out of the country and can't find without paying for another connection, then that would mean you would have to pay for another method, that is what I meant

Even if you're out of the country, as long as you're not spending summer in Antarctica, you should be able to find some place with cheap/free wifi for Lr to confirm the license is still valid.
