I agree.

Pied Cormorant (I think) a couple of days ago.
I think it's just mud stained from the swampy pond it's been fishing in, I like the look.

Nice Little Pied Cormorant.

Here is one a tad cleaner but a lot noisier!!

This Willy wagtail let me get very close. This is not cropped.
I think I'll do a bit of masking at clean up the messy background.

You did get close to that one. How do you like the 100-400 II? I have the old version & it has some really weird bokeh on it sometimes. Your's looks nice & clean, although at f/11. I don't think I've used mine at f/11.

Couldn't find a bird with the bokeh, but this roo is a good example.

I had 1.4TC so lens was F8, F11 with the TC.
Bokeh is great. Lens is great. I had some bad bokeh with 400 5.6 prime caused by UV filter. It was a canon "sharp cut" which I think are made by Tiffen.

Yes, it is next to the boat ramp for Little Beach. And they gather when people are cleaning fish.

Thanks Dave, I was quite pleased with the result as used a slow shutter speed to blur the waterfall, thankfully the duck stayed pretty still at the same time :-)

Cheers
Gus

One of my favourites. At a small native garden in Sydney.
Have spent hours chasing Satin bowerbirds around the gardens and rarely get any decent shots.
For anyone not aware, males are coloured the same as females until 7-8 years old when they molt and become
all black (appear blue).
This one almost finished molting but some green remaining.

IMAGE: https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8738/16281286574_3387ac0fd5_o.jpg

Therefore unable to say if this is male or female.

IMAGE: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7621/16716241780_bfdfd4a152_o.jpg

Same gardens, hopefully someone can ID for me.
