Your dog shot...

To me that seems like it is just a smidge better than the 24LII. Just based on me using my copy that I had. The fine hairs stand out a tad better than I expected.

Very good results thus far.

I want exposure compensation. For any other non 1dx camera I just use TV mode... use auto ISO... then I can use exposure compensation with the back wheel and top wheel ride the shutter where I want and just adjust it with a quick flip to get the aperture that I want. For me this works fine.

I own both. I've only had the Sigma for less than a week. Here are my observations.

Contrast is better straight off the camera from the Sigma

The Sigma is sharper @1.4 in the center of the frame.

Both lenses look similar in the border area.

Much less CA wide open from the Sigma

Focus speed in good light is a tie

Focus accuracy seemed about the same but I've only taken pics in daylight

Weight feels about the same.

I'm currently selling the 24mm II cheap in the classifieds / trading =)

I like gear and I have too much.
