Challenge #526 - See Anything Green?
_______________

Thanks again to everyone for taking part this week, here goes…….

Teekay – Although there is not as much green in this as the others it is certainly the dominant colour here, the promise of spring and new life. Just Lovely
Jim – You have a marvellous collection of time pieces judging by this and previous challenges. Very impressing ‘bling’ well captured.
Raphael – Great action shot of the boys’ game. I need to know though, was the shot on target? Did they score?
Maureen – I love roses. This shows great texture, light and beautiful glossy leaves and will be even more stunning in full bloom.
Michael – Again, you have great texture, light and sheen off those leaves. I like the processing – what is it? I want to say watercolour-like but I’m not sure.
Spoco57 – Well named, they look exactly like botanical fireworks! Great texture and colours but my eye keeps getting drawn to the cane just right of centre.
Raven – At first I just saw moss on a fence. Then I really looked. Now it looks like a landscape collage of mossy hills. The more I look at it the more I like it.

Third place goes to Raphael for emotion at the soccer field
Second Place goes to Teekay for Signs of Spring
And the winner of this challenge is Raven for his Monster Moss – over to you for Challenge #527!

Description of this week topic:
Well today is St Patricks Day so in his honour I would like to see images where Green is the dominant colour. I will look for quality as well as subject matter.

Congrats to Raven. If there was a betting component to this challenge, I'd have cashed in on that photo. A worthy choice, Car!

Congrats also to Teekay and Rafael for the sweet spots!

I don't know whether the cane is a part of the plants or the planter but you're right Car, it is distracting.

Thanks for posting the challenge and doing the honors this week!

Steve

Congratulations, Raven, and teekay. I guess the power of spring was the dominant feeling in the warming north.
Thank you Car for an interesting challenge and the third place.

I live in an evergreen country. The vast majority of our population is Christian Catholic but St Patrick and the green associated with him are not well known here.

I was thinking on green tropical plants, but then my grandson had an official game on the 'sub 8' school tournament and I went to see him.

Unfortunately, the grass was synthetic and not as bright as the natural grass, but that was what I had.

Yes! The challenge was already announced, so I aimed the camera low to include as much green as I can.
No! luckily. The Goal Keeper in black (my grandson) caught the ball a fraction of a second later.

That is the problem of the Pro1 for action shots: It is slow, so you need to press the shutter button in advance.

That's for sure! We eagerly look forward every year to those first shoots of green emerging right after the snow, but I really miss not having a flip screen on the G15 when I have to get right down to ground level to take shots like my entry this week.

Congrats to the winners, and for spring officially arriving...somewhere. We still have (dirty) white snow, but experienced some spring-like whether last week in South Carolina. Here's a shot I took in Greenville, SC the day before St. Patrick's day (a green day).
