I bought a photo insert to use with my Kånken backpack. "Everyone" has these backpacks here, so it's very discrete.

That looks like a perfect fit for your gear. Just make sure you can ID your bag since everyone has these type/style of backpacks.

I just picked up a Tamrac Expedition 5 and am in the process of trying to figure out how to position my gear and accessories into it. Found this thread and see that it has over 400 pages. This is going to take awhile to sort out, and I'll probably re-do it several times before I'm satisfied. Currently thinking of the body with the lens pointing up instead of down like most do, not sure how long it will stay that way.

Off to search and scratch my head a bit, then rip and grip and reposition the velcro dividers, and decide what accessory to stick where and in which pocket. I was wanting an F-Stop Guru or Loka, but went this way instead to save some budget for a future lens purchase.

hi everyone,

i am looking for a back pack that can accommodate 2 5d (not gripped) bodies mounted with 24-70 II & 70-200 f/2.8. i need quick access to gears & preferably a top loading bag that it's doors big enough to put them side by side. this post has kind of bag that i am looking for but seems it doesn't have quick access nor top loading model. if it can carry a 17" laptop that would be big plus. anyone has recommendation ?

may thanks in advance.

In the process of moving, I stumbled upon an old gear case I used to use when touring with my band. I believe it's a Road Case USA brand. It perfectly holds all my lenses and two bodies snuggly in place when closed. Most of the foam insert had previously been torn up, so it's a little messy (I may order some new inserts), but I like it! I won't likely be bringing this with me to any shoots, but it's a nice way to store things.

I don't really try many bags but from your descriptions this came up in mind.

While it looks like a very solidly built case, it seems like the lenses and bodies are right up to the edge of the case? Aren't they all at risk of hitting that sharp edge when there's an impact?

He said it's just for storage.

Yeah if it were dropped there's a chance, but the presssure of the foam from the top lid holds everything (particularly the larger items, bodies, etc.) in place pretty well. That and I'm not moving it very far. Eventually I think I will replace the foam inserts so I have a bit more intact to work with.
