cool jpeg or raw what ever you can do
prob base runners
batters just kinda stand there and bat motion isnt a biggie but maybe 1 of each thanks

Jpeg of a play at first base straight out of the camera. Only thing done to it was what the camera did to it in the camera and downsized for the forum

Picture style was set on landscape. If I was editing the raw file, the first thing I would do would be to crop it and level the horizon.

buddie of mine has a 7d2
says he has to set ss 1/1000 or above or it has focus issues?

Something wrong with that - I was at the race track shooting motorsports over the weekend, got lots of keepers shooting at 1/160 and 1/125 using my Canon 70-200 IS II, at 200 and even with a 1.4X tele, no issues. In fact, I'd say the focus was fantastic, I was really impressed by how quickly focus locked-on and tracked the moving cars.

Slow ground ball between the pitcher and the second baseman. Pitcher and second baseman just about collided going after the ball. I don't remember who ended up with the ball but the runner beat the throw to first.

The raw edit will definitely look different than what was posted but Burnett was wanting to look at an action shot jpeg straight out of the camera.

Shutter speed has nothing to do with focus. The shutter doesn't release (or can, depending on your settings...but I digress) until focus has been achieved. I believe your buddy is confusing sharpess with focus. Sharpness is affected by many things, focus, subject motion, camera motion, ISO (and the NR that goes with it), lens quality, atmospheric conditions....

Several baseball photos from Tuesday night. Some of them very high ISO after the sun went down. The first one is with 2X III extender before the light got bad.

Robert,
How much did your crop off on your 2nd and 3rd images? I would expect them to be a. It sharper based on others with the new lens and Tc 1.4x iii. But, if large crop or is the version 1 of he TC, I would say as expected.

I had to crop quite a bit! They were very far away and my technique MUST not be very good yet, esp with the Tc 1.4x ii. I rarely get a sharp pic handheld.... RARELY. :( I was more excited that I saw them than how the pic actually turned out. lol

I think I'm the only 7DII owner that hasn't posted a bird photo thus far.

Well i guess i have to change that today.

so here's my first attempt using the one ancient telephoto lens that I own.

So yeah I am still liking the lens...just wish it was faster... Although flash performance is great. I wonder sometimes if the loss of 2.8 will make a big difference in AF performance in low light or losing dual cross on center.

Just my couple of thoughts so far.
