Used an old UV filter, removed the UV glass and siliconed the filter thread to welding glass.

Very cool! Looks almost better than my b+w 110 in terms of cast and vignetting!

Today was my first trip ever to take photos with ND filters, unfortunately the snow and ice on the side of the hill made it impossible to safely get to the area I normally photograph from but I was able to get a series of shots from this location, they all turned out about like this one. Let me know what you think of this & what I can do differently the next time, other than a less obstructed subject.

The Red Planet...
Another sunset in the vog pic taken several days back.

Vog is a form of air pollution that results when sulfur dioxide and other gases and particles emitted by an erupting volcano react with oxygen and moisture in the presence of sunlight. The word is a portmanteau of the words "volcanic", "smog", and "fog". The term is in common use in the Hawaiian islands, where the Kīlauea volcano, on the Island of Hawaiʻi (aka "The Big Island"), has been erupting continuously since 1983. Based on June 2008 measurements, Kīlauea emits 2,000–4,000 tons of sulfur dioxide every day.
