Nice. I thought the dreamy bokeh worked particularly well on this shot, so I was wondering what lens and whether it was wide open. That answered my question.

It was wide open. This lens gives some pretty good bokeh.

Nicely done, CJ. I just picked up that lens, too.

I've had it for a few months now. Really liking the IQ and convenience of one lens.

Yeah. I'm considering going with something like that 24-70/2.8.
But then again, I have a number of other gear schemes brewing.
You still have that Tilt-Shift you had with you that one time in DTLA?

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Love seeing all the shots guys, wonderful work! I slapped the Sigma 35 ART on awhile back and it has yet to come back off. I am loving the combo. Here's a few randoms from moi, all with the 35.

No, sadly, I sold it to pay for school applications.

I know Sigma mentioned they're working on a new 24-70 and 70-200, those are the two I'm looking forward to :D

I'm still really enjoying the Sigma 70-200 OS.

My girlfriend is starting to get more comfortable in front of the camera:

Can I ask everyone in here for advice/opinions? I know I could post in the lens forum, but I trust the insight of fellow 6D owners.

As short as possible: I want a 16-35, I'm just torn between 2.8 and f4. I've become in love with being able to shoot at 2.8, but the f4 has overall better reviews, better optics, sharper etc. And it's a 77mm filter size and I already have filters for that.

The answer seems fairly obvious, but I can't make decisions without the assistance of others.

Thanks!

Why do you like shooting at f2.8? Is it because you like shallow DOF? If so then don't worry about it with this ultrawide, go with the f4 lens.

If you like shooting in low light, I'd still go with the f4 lens, especially on a 6D and high iso capabilities. The f4 is sharper, has IS, is lighter/smaller, newer design, 77mm filters. The only thing the f2.8 version has in it's corner is the extra stop of light.

I do like the shallow DOF with the 2.8, but being a wide angle, I'm not sure how often it would be used at 2.8.

I guess, admittedly, my hesitation comes from my 24-105 being a f4. I think it's a great lens, but compared to my other lenses, it's just not as sharp. I mean I know it's sort of apples to oranges with comparing an older model 24-105 to a new 16-35, but it draws hesitation.

Even at f2.8 you wouldn't get a very shallow DOF at 16mm, you would at the long end though. But you don't buy this lens to shoot at 35mm, you buy it for the wider end. Being able to "convert" it to a 35mm is just a bonus :)

Just returned from a trip to Puerto Rico. I'll be processing photos for a while. I only brought the 16-35 F4 and the 40mm 2.8. Mostly used the 16-35 F4 the whole time. I definitely missed having something longer but i was trying to keep the weight down.
