Spring high school baseball is what I'm shooting a lot of right now. The games that are in the daylight make it much easier with my slow Sigma 150-500 and I have a lot to learn when it comes to shooting sports. At least my Grandsons are playing their part well, now if I can just capture some good shots of them this season as an era for the family is coming to an end.
First pic is of Dylan,#12, at bat, my Senior Grandson. He has already signed with a college to play ball with them so he is relaxed and enjoying his last spring high school baseball season.
Dylan on first listening to pointers from his 1st base coach.

Blake,#17, is my freshman grandson, he plays varsity quite often too, so the two brothers are on the field together for their first time since they began little league ball years ago. Blake gets sent in to pinch run for our catcher, he is the fastest runner in school, will always steal second and sometimes 3rd. Since Dylan bats 4th in the line up he is often bringing his little brother in for a scoring run. Next pic is of Blake walking off first for his lead and yes he stole 2nd and 3rd then scored in this inning.

Later in the evening is when the light is a challenge and it is downhill for quality shots for me. I dream of the big white 2.8 that the fella beside me had on his 7D. We talked some but since he was from the opposing team he wasn't overly friendly.

Shooting through the wire fence, manuel focus, high iso, slow shutter speed, not a good combo.
Here is Blake letting a high ball go by.
Last pic is Blake stealing 2nd and he was starting to blur before he got up to speed.
Sorry for all the ball pics but I'm kinda proud of these two boys and I didn't even mention they are both on the 4.0 honor roll. Good thing they didn't take after their Grandpa!

the second shot!
