My proof that the 6D is still a monster for birding!

I using 6D for almost a year now, very happy with it. Got some extra cash now with new photo gear in mind.
So my two options are:
1. Stay with 6D and buy 50 1.2L for it (I NEED fast prime and this is the one for me but focus&recompose with 6D center AF point will be problematic for sure)
or
2. Switch to 5DmkIII (much better AF for running kids, slightly worse ISO performance).

Both options are equal regarding costs here: cost of 50 1.2L = cost of switching to 5DmkIII. So its either ultimate body or ultimate prime for me.
First world problems, I know, but any opinions?

Thanks! She was very cooperative both days I shot, got close to a 1000 pics of her & "boyfriend". Looks very "green" to me from phone, maybe time to calibrate my laptop.

I don't know your situation (pro, aspiring pro, enthusiast parent, etc.) but I can tell you as an enthusiast parent with a 6D, my choice would be easy - 50L. I honestly don't think the AF is all that bad on this camera (on any point). It's obviously better on center, but with a fast lens (1.4 in my case), high-enough shutter speed 1/200-250+, and auto ISO, I feel like I can capture images of my kids just about anywhere/anytime. I have an almost 3 y/o and an almost 9 y/o btw.

Anyways, I'd keep adding to my lens collection and then buy one of the new 5D cameras down the road a couple/few years. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks! Island Beach State Park, NJ. Went Easter Sunday & Monday morning. Easy on Sunday, but Monday they gave me a workout, still got around a 1,000 shots! Calibrated my monitor, no more greenish pics!

Well "enthusiast parent" describes me perfectly too.
For posed shots 6D is absolutely great, problems starts when kids are starting do jump all over the place. Furthermore, Im paying for 1.2 lens to actually use it at large apertures (1.2~1.8), so with 6D AF sharp photos will be even harder - I will be restricted to central point only and even then pray for AF to land spot on. So that got me thinking about 5DmkIII and its tracking abilities but price difference is huge.
How its working for you: 6D + 1.4 aperture + kids playing?
Thanks!
