Rochelle tornado. We stopped ahead of it to let it pass across the road but while taking photos I noticed it was getting larger each click so I knew it was headed our way. So I jumped in the car and tried to get out of the way but it was so big it caught us before I could get past and we were caught in it. Our car is totaled they say. The first photo was before and the 2nd after it passed. If you want to see more I put them all on my website on this page: http://www.fisheadtackle.com/Tornado.html (external link)

Glad you're ok! Powerful stuff. I am so happy we do not have any of those here in Finland.

It's good that you got through it all right, and the pictures are a bonus.

You on your website: "I wish we had followed this one and got more photos."

I suspect that I'd hightail it in the opposite direction and not think of my camera till well after the fact!

Scary just to look at that! I wish I could say that I wouldn't have risked being in the path to get good photos, but I'm afraid that I don't have that wisdom :-) Glad you're okay; cars are replaceable...
