With a Tamron super zoom rental, first time trying it out for me. Will be using it a lot over the next few days I hope. Never used a super zoom before, I see that there is a learning curve. I got lucky on this one. From my initial shoot this morning.

If this is your starting point, I'm looking forward to seeing your product after the learning curve! The color in this is beautiful!

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "super zoom"? Up to 500/600?

150-600mm. I have never worked with a super long zoom/tele before even when I spent years shooting film in the old days...(I still shoot some).

This bird was close, so it was shot at 150.

Thank you for the kind words. I may post this in the "Raw Conversions" thread with before and after.

This is a great capture. The way the green around the eyes ties in with the foliage is amazing.

A fine afternoon at Wakodahatchee. Last day with the rental Tamron, finally got one decent BIF after a LOAD of tries that didn't work too well. I have the greatest respect for those of you that are good at this!! I like this one, it is encouraging although it looks like a flying chicken. I think afternoons work better there.

And my favorite egret. Posing for me again.

Another fine morning at Wakodahatchee. I had a meeting nearby and decided to stop there for an hour on my way back to the office. Starting to see some improvement in BIF. But I'm back to my kit lens now that the Tamron has gone back to the rental place.
