What would be ideal? A mattebox?

Yep, one of the Lanparte matte boxes would be ideal but they are very expensive. Maybe next year :-)

Rig I've been using that demonstrates why I love the Tascam DR-60D recorder. Although I have a shoulder yoke that attaches to the rear of the rails, I rarely use it--I mostly put the rig on a tripod as shown.

I mostly do interviews, so there is usually a wireless lavaliere on the subject. I'll also usually have a cable from the output of the recorder to the audio input of the camera so that I can record sync sound that includes the recorder's auto slate tone.

There is a battery booster Velcroed to the rear of the recorder to mitigate its one fault--poor internal battery life.

So, I'm able to completely monitor the wireless receiver and the recorder. I also love using the Canon 70D touch screen and touch focusing.

Nice system Kirk. I really wish I had the cash to get into doing DSLR video properly. I actually started with Standard 8 cine before I got involved with shooting with 35mm SLR's. I guess I was about nine or ten at the time.

This is my audio post area minus a few upgrades. Biggest upgrade is adding in 5.1 surround sound mixing capabilities with krk vxt 6 monitors and sub woofer. Setup software includes pro tools, Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, and numerous plugins.
