I love this lens and wish the weather would improve so I could learn it's in-s and out-s. This is at f/8 on a 1200D. Now I just need to learn how not to post such huge image. Sorry about that!

European Jay on my bird feeder this morning.
It was nice to get some good light for a change to show the bird off.

Got this lens from ebay with bidding.Wondering if some motor wining noise normal while zooming this lens. Is it normal to hear some noise while zooming in /out. It is not audible outside. But I can hear it inside home.

No that is not normal... it is so quiet that it is a little odd to use. I'm used to hearing the focus move, etc, and this STM lens is so quiet that I a actually find myself wondering if it is even working. (It is!)

There are several versions of this lens, only the STM lens is silent... the other 55-250's have some noise... but are still pretty darn good lenses. So unless you absolutely need whisper silent, then you likely are still ok.
