This is my first time trying the manually operated barn-door tracker I've made. C&C are most welcome!

1: 24mm, ISO 1600, f/2.5, 120sec. I made 1 panorama for the sky and 1 for the foreground and combined them.

2: 14mm, ISO 1600, f/2.8, 150sec. 1 frame for the stars and one for the foreground.

I'm impressed. Up to 2 minutes of manual tracking!! They turned out well. I can't do 1 minute with automatic tracking. :(

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

Thanks! With the 14mm I did 2.5 minutes. To my surprise, I got more detail with the 14mm than the 24mm.

Which 14mm? My 14L has nasty coma. Not sure if that's normal for this lens. It was dropped once and repaired by Canon. But their service record sucks and I would not be surprised if they messed up again.

Pretty much all of the 14mm 2.8's have poor coma except the Rokinon 14mm and Nikon 14-24.

Samyang. It has very little coma wide open.

Nice captures with that BDT . What is your clock time for turning the screw for adjustments ? You have trailing slightly on your second image . You might want to close the gap some on your clock time .

Thank you! It is around 10 seconds. That trailing might be shaking.

Nice job with the composites, that's the way it's done! Your colors are right on as well.
