had a blast getting out for the 1st time with this lens - it was an eye-opener  and a lot of fun

my turn to post some funky perspective, and a shot 'straight on'

WOWZERS! That's a great bit of eye-candy there. 8-) Can you tell us some about your set up for this shot?

Had a lot of fun on my first outing with this lens. As I took a few snaps I realized I would put the shots on a FB album and call it "Tourist in my own town" because shooting with such a wide angle really allowed for creativity - thus seeing my own town in a new way. I line unique processing - unless - I take a landscape that can stand on its own merit, for example. A few below, and another post to show a few more:

quite a simple setup really

cheap chinese tripod + Haida ND1000 filter (10 stops) ;)
result is 60 seconds of exposure to get the intended effect of movement of the clouds.

The key is to have some slight wind and that the wind goes to the right direction ;)
And of course, some nice clouds
And a lonely tree
And lots of patience ;)

"Simple" and "Cheap" are both good! Those are two qualities I try to use in all my photography. Actually, in many other aspects of my life too...

Got to work on my patience for the weather though.

The tree certainly is a great shot - appreciate the sharing of settings and gear. I just got a 3 Stop ND last week, awaiting a time to try it...

cheers,

I just got thinking about the fact that I've never tried an exposure anywhere near that long with the 60D. I'm assuming you used a lower ISO, but did you end up with any noise problems?

Those are all very nice, love the 3rd one. This lens is definitely a bargain IQ wise and for the fun factor. So far for me best deal lens are this one and my 60mm macro.
