Indycar 2008 Milwaukee Mile, #4 Vitor Meira came around corner two, to find the track blocked by two cars. (#26 Marco Andretti - Indiana Jones car paint job, ran only this one race) Note: eventual race winner #8 Ryan Brisco is the red Penske car, right behind him, avoiding the incident successfully. Meira made a safe landing on his wheels.

I must say that Levi's Stadium has the best lighting of any stadium I've been able to photograph in.

Part 3: I'm unsure why I'm unable to attach 2 images to one post, the code kept showing up but the photo did not. If a moderator/admin could merge the posts that would be awesome.

I'm trying to imagine the sequence of events leading to that moment. Surely he was secured with harnesses?

Yes he was. The car crashed, landed on its side and he climbed out of the top door. Went to the front, stepped on the wheel to jump off - and of course the wheel moved, sending the guy flying.

Here's how he ended up:

I know I shouldn't laugh but that photo is too funny! (Only as long as he came away unscathed though.)

From the Rolex 24 weekend at Daytona - in the first Ferrari Challenge race on Friday, Marc Muzzo had a problem entering the International Horseshoe, locked up the brakes, and slid straight into the tire barrier. He walked away, and was able to run the second race on Saturday.

Just found this thread. Here's the aftermath of the big one from the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour. Driver sprung out of the car before the wreck was even visible!
