I’ve been home from Patagonia for a week and have finally started going through my pictures. This one was taken after hunkering down for four days of rain. As the sun came up we were treated to this, a spectacular sunrise that lit up Mount Fitz Roy. Before the rain hit there was some amazing fall colors to the trees but the rain in El Chalten was snow up here and it covered all of those warm colors in a cool blanket of snow.

It looks best on a black background, select the Flickr link (external link) to enlarge and view on black.

QUOTED IMAGE

Gorgeous image. Just getting back from Patagonia myself. We were blessed by a few days of sunshine before the rain started. I will post some images once I get my feet back on the ground.

Thanks, I'm sure you'll have a blast. By the way, as a homebrewer and beer lover I'm always on the look out for new and great beer. The pickings are slim in El Chalten, but La Vinería had a great selection of beers. Just in case it rains for 4 days straight :D

Thanks Sam, this one will be getting the Fujiflex under acrylic treatment:D I have a slightly different perspective standing a little to the right where that tree isn't quite as prominent, I'm going to process that one and see which one I like best.
