I've been shooting with this lens for a while now but I've only just come to the conclusion that it works best for me shooting portraits in portrait orientation rather than landscape! Would love an 85mm for the latter!

I tried to hold off, but I can't. Here are my 'I just got this lens and had to go out and try it' shots...

Cute hoodie. Is that flare in 3 and 4?

Cheers, Damien

^Congrats, just got mine last week! I did a NASCAR driving experience in Nashville on Saturday and brought the 135 along for a spin. Here's a few shots.

Yup, It's flare. Not sure if all copies are like this, but my 135L seems to be a flare monster! I don't often use hoods because I like to be able to play with flare, but this lens picks up stray light better than any I've ever used... Is that a complaint? NO WAY! :-) I cannot complain about this thing. It really does have it's own look. I just wish all of my lenses AF'd like this one. This is my new gold standard for autofocus.

Ahhh! You're making me so excited to receive mine. I hope my copy makes me as happy as yours does for you! Right now, I'm really skeptical if the 135 can knock off the 35 as my favorite, but I'm anxious to find out :)

I used the 135/35 combo (I have the older 35mm f2) to photograph an outdoor event this weekend it was outstanding. I think it makes a great compliment to the 35. I brought both bodies, put one on each and didn't want for another lens.
