Absolutely perfect from a platform of this size. What impresses me is the time it takes from start-up to taking the shot. You don't need to wait that long and the shutter lag is acceptable.
I'm gonna love a compact that can do this when called upon

As I've gone smaller with my gear (move to mirrorless), I do continue to appreciate my little Canon G7X. It's a great little performer, and goes with me everywhere.

May I ask what aperture did you use to get that sun star? I can't see the shooting details on the Flickr image page.
Love this little camera for quality in an easy to carry package. Need to make an effort to use it more.

Perfect. This looks like a painting. I like the effect and agree that this camera packs a whole lot of punch for its size.
